An Interesting Statistic

So I’m watching the documentary Bigger Stronger Faster* which is a movie about steroids. Pretty good so far. Anyways, the movie starts talking about steroids in baseball – remember Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, and Barry Bonds? I do. After they hit all those home runs they were accused of taking steroids – which was pretty obvious when you simply looked at them. After they were accused, they had to go in front of Congress. The interesting statistic from the movie is that Congress held these debates about steroids for 8 days. 8 days was longer than they debated about health care, the levees that failed during Katrina, or ending the Iraq War.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) Has An Interesting Idea

So Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., has a very interesting idea – a bill that will withhold Federal health benefits from members of Congress until Health Legislation is passed. What a novel idea. I wholly support it.

Interesting New Washington Post Poll

According to a new Washington Post poll, people have roughly the same opinion of Democrats and Republicans as they did in 2008 and 2006 – the years Democrats made big gains in Congress. However, I’m still of the opinion that the Dems will lose some seats in the House and the Senate, though still maintaining their Majorities. We’ll see I guess.

That Whole FISA Reform Bill Thing

There sure seems to be a lot out in the tubes lately about the FISA reform bill. Harry Reid sucks. Chris Dodd doesn’t suck. Speaking of Chris Dodd, doesn’t he seem to be the only Democrat who actually does something right in Congress? The first post I ever made on this website was about Chris Dodd putting a hold on legislation regarding warrantless surveillance and telecom immunity.

Why is it that Chris Dodd is the only Democrat with any balls? And Jay Rockafeller is a dick. Has this Democrat-controlled Congress actually succeeded at anything yet? I just don’t get it.
