Any conversation involving a hot dog is inherently funny.  Just the concept of a choke-proof hot dog conjures up a lot of funny ideas – what about rectangular shapes, for example.  A couple of highlights from the article:

If you were to take the best engineers in the world and try to design the perfect plug for a child’s airway, it would be a hot dog[.]

Because the best engineers in the world would sign up for that gig.
